RIUF Exhibitors and Partners Testimonials

"Dear All,
The Romanian University Fair was amazing! Literally thousands of students were there! Things were buzzing! First of all, I have to say I was impressed with the organization. They accommodated me (for Princeton) gracefully and efficiently, even though I confirmed at the last minute. I was expecting the standard hall with tables, but found a professional set-up with separate, walled booth areas, with table and chairs. I was greeted nicely, and help was offered and followed through on to make sure I had water, food and a bathroom break (being swamped with visitors.) The atmosphere was energetic and positive. I congratulate the organizers! I suggest that we be sure that Princeton is represented next year (when they plan to run it for two days in a bigger venue.) By the way, Harvard had a strong presence, with both alums and current undergrads manning their booth (and bigger better posters, which the alumni rep created on his own!) I was on my feet talking to students non-stop for over 5 hours, with one 5-minute bathroom break! I was literally backed against the wall by crowds of students interested in Princeton. It was quite amazing, tiring but energizing as well. (I had to leave early because of another commitment, so I didn't stay until the end.) The time passed quickly. Within minutes of the opening I ran out of the brochures that the Admissions Office sent. I had created some 1-page handouts the night before, and those (I only had 100) were quickly gone as well. I did a lot of talking, collected hundreds of names, and referred a lot of people to the website! If was quite an experience to have 15 to 30 people crowding by the booth, hanging on my every word."
Juanita Burch Clay, Princeton University representative

" An international university fair is long overdue in Romania. I commend the organizers for doing a great job in securing 58 educational institutions and over 7,200 participants to attend the first RIUF. There are many great students in Romania who need to explore their educational options abroad and RIUF provides the perfect platform to gain access to information and relationships with college recruiters from numerous countries. "
Mike Costache, Pepperdine University, Member of Alumni Board of Directors

" The fair was well organized and was a great success. The demand is there, and students were full of enthusiasm and interested in the fair. "
Ioanid Rosu, Chicago University Professor.

"The Ministry of Education and Research is extremely happy about this step forward. The fair stands at the intersection of the supply of education and the great demand that exists in Romania. I hope that this initiative is not singularly and will become a continuing process."
Dumitru Miron Minister Secretary of State in the Ministry of Education

"Our program complements the fair's goal, offering generous full scholarships of up to 35,000 euros/student for students willing to study abroad, provided that they return to Romania and work in the administration. We want to encourage young graduates of foreign universities to develop a successful career in Romania by offering them positions in the public administration and fast track merit-based promotion means. We have offered 45 scholarships so far."
Alexandru Popa, Stanford Graduate, former adviser to the Romanian Prime Minister and - at that time - the head of the Romanian Government's Special Scholarship program.

"I would like to congratulate the organizers who managed to create this fair on their own. Everything you see here is the work of Alexandru Manaila and Alexandru Ghita, who brought the exhibitors to Romania, found media and corporate partners, and managed to organize this event without the help of the Romanian administration."
Bogdan Chiritoiu, Adviser on educational matters to the President of Romania
